Waterlillies by JK, Acylic on Canvas - Original

'Waterlilies' by JK. A one if a kind painting inspired by Claude Monets Waterlilies. I have been infatuated with waterlilies since studying Monet's art through school, college and university. Fascinated by all the different ways to express my Waterlily paintings, whether its through Canvas Art, Furniture, Wooden Wall Décor and specifically to this stunning creation - Clay. I enjoy experimenting with Texture through various textured mediums, or painting techniques. This time I challenged myself to create 3D Waterlilies and Lilly pads made out of air dry clay. These are featured towards the bottom of the painting, gradually becoming less textured as the Waterlilies fade into the distance. The contrast between the vivid blues and greens compliment the white waterlilies with a touch of gold shimmering in the centres. I used acrylic paint including metallics to create the artistry, then sealed the whole piece with Gamvar Gloss to add protection. The canvas itself is 100cm W x 75cm H x 4cm D This is a truly one of a kind creation, which would create a beautiful statement piece to any home.
