There are certain subjects an artist returns to again and again — not out of repetition, but out of love. For me, hand‑painted waterlilies have become that signature. Every time I paint them, they become something entirely new. No two pieces ever look the same; each one grows its own personality, its own movement, its own quiet kind of magic.

This bombe chest is a perfect example of that evolution.

Across the curved front, layers of textured paint create a shimmering, watery surface — soft blues, greens, and gentle ripples that feel alive beneath the brush. The lilies and lily pads are built up with depth and dimension, giving the piece a sculptural quality that invites you to look closer. And then there are the accented pink lilies, blooming boldly against the cooler tones, adding a beautiful contrast that draws the eye instantly.

The bombe structure itself enhances the artwork, allowing the waterlilies to flow naturally across the curves as though drifting across a pond. It’s a piece that feels serene, elegant, and unmistakably mine.

This is one of my favourite creations — a reminder of why I will continue painting original waterlily artworks throughout my career. They are part of my artistic identity, and this chest carries that signature proudly.
